A few days after we’d seen IT, I received these creepy photos from a completely random number. Do you see that red balloon? Those creepy gloves on the slide? I was so creeped out, I hadn’t even noticed the very explicit IT written in planks.
When Alex came to pick me up from work, I told him all about the spoopy photos. He looked at me, seriously at first, then his face started twisting in a painful grimace trying really hard not to laugh, until he couldn’t contain himself and almost ran us off the road.
As he told it, he was running errands and came across a pile of materials and decided to build a very special, site-specific installation on the side of the road somewhere in Glendale, just to freak me out. AND THEN, he talked a stranger into taking photos, sending them to me, AND PLAY ALONG when I asked/texted back questions demanding answers, because of course he did.
