The Last Bookstore

The Last Bookstore

I will be the first to admit that I totally think the Last Bookstore is a bit of a pretentious place, but seriously, it has a section devoted to dinosaurs, you know? I’m easy, I’ve always said.

Plus, okay, I am also totally enamored with their upstairs labyrinth. I have spent hours during past visits just combing through the shelves for weirdo titles. At a buck each, there is no reason not to bring them home. I was sad to see that they have made away with the old sci-fi bank vault, with its soundtrack, the bits and bobs, and the science/space art. But someone decided to start arranging the thousands and thousands of books by colour, and that is both mad and admirable. And as a visual designer, that is the kind of endeavour I can get behind.

Seriously cool looking bookstore. Some of the pics look like they came out of a Harry Potter Movie.
